The brilliance of our clients. We’re not interested in working with firms that ‘tick the box’ we’re committed to working with clients that integrate us in their team. Some firms call that ‘walking in your shoes’ or the classic ‘getting under your skin’ – we just call it doing a fantastic job.
At Future PR we go to great lengths to deliver award-winning work. These aren’t PR awards*, these are industry awards won by our clients where PR played a role. The bottom line is our absolute focus in making you stand out above the noise generated by your competitors. We’ve got a flawless reputation amongst our clients but the essence of Future PR is that every campaign is rooted in the commercial realities of your business – a simple notion that a lot of PR firms miss.
There’s a short answer and a really really long answer.
The short answer is ‘what we do’ completely varies from one client to another. Your issues will be entirely different to the next client’s issues. You’ll have challenges in your business that PR can’t resolve but we’ve got a fantastic pedigree that will assist you in developing a marketing strategy that works to your strengths and plays down your deficiencies. We’ve got vast experience of working with clients with zero marketing function so we fulfil that role entirely – and we’re currently working with clients with robust and talented marketing teams that need an external perspective and strong delivery – that’s us.
We’re not miracle workers. But what we can do is use our extensive knowledge to deliver a high-impact campaign that will deliver against your bottom-line. Unless it’s a specific crisis or internal communications campaign – the majority of work we do is about helping companies sell more, to more people for more money.
Everything we do is measurable and transparent. We don’t multiply press coverage times three because apparently it has greater value than an advert – says who?
What we do is assess the hard-hitting data which truly measures your impact – that might be rooted in website visits, Facebook likes or video views – establishing what ‘brilliant’ looks like will depend on your needs.
Those are the values that run through our business and when you work with us you'll see what we mean.
When I stepped into my first agency role 17 years ago I knew it was a place I wanted to be. I cut my PR teeth working with a global top 10 firm and looked after clients including Eversheds, PwC, ConocoPhillips and Tarmac – in 2005 I set up my first PR firm with a business partner. But Future PR is different. We're not a supplier, nor are we 'the consultants' – we're part of a team that starts and ends with our clients – we don't aspire to be the biggest, we're happy just to be the best. I'm a straight-talker, which is the very essence of Future PR.
With a background in international marketing, I look at PR in the wider context of integrated communications. I spent the first 12 years of my career in London agencies working with clients like Johnson & Johnson, Müller, Wrigley’s and Pfizer. I love working with our clients at Future PR – spanning trade and consumer campaigns we have a real opportunity to spark interest and inspiration in what are often very complex system offerings.
So much about PR is based on a sound understanding of the markets we serve and that's where I come in. Until 2013, I'd never worked in a PR firm, my background is in quality management having spent over 10 years working for Pick Everard, where my work resulted in them achieving IiP and Investors in Excellence. My expertise is in developing and delivering complex and multi-layered campaigns. Most of our work at Future PR is grounded in some element of market research and that's my passion. We're a solid team rooted in hard graft and a single desire to make our clients stand out.
We’re not a full service agency – we make no apology for that.
We’re expert public relations practitioners.
We run a tight ship which means we collaborate with other like-minded firms that are experts at what they do. We love video at FPR, we’ve been using it as a primary means of communication for a long time so we’ve finessed the process by collaborating with Nick Padley at Giant Leap Productions. They’ve become a vital component in our weaponry.
In 2014 we also started working with John Marland from Noise Agency who are website designers, developers and marketer’s, based in Lancaster delivering professional, high-end, quality website design and digital marketing solutions – both Nick and John share our passion and clients that work with us across all three disciplines see far greater cost and resource efficiency working in this way.
What we recognise at FPR is that the world is a really small place and you can ‘touch’ and influence your customer far easier than every before. In many ways that’s exciting but for many businesses that can be daunting – that’s where we come in. We work with our clients to develop a layered approach to communications – by that we mean, we ‘sweat’ every opportunity to deliver a result, we’re highly skilled at taking one piece of information and making it work across a huge number of platforms. But with experience comes our ability to keep you on point and work with you to limit the content that neither influences nor effects change.
We’re also skilled practitioners at working consumer channels as well as the trade. We work hard with clients, however complex their channel management, to develop compelling consumer campaigns – have a look at the Ultraframe case study.
Emma makes a significant contribution to our business – we no longer consider her to be an external consultant, rather a trusted member of the team. She is equally comfortable handling strategic issues through to execution and approaches all activities with energy and enthusiasm. If Emma is on top of something, I know it will be done and done well.
It’s rare to find a PR professional with real commercial aptitude but Emma at Future PR really understands the bottom line realities of our business and this features across all of her recommendations and campaigns. Our relationship is now entering its third year and we continually benefit from Emma’s vast experience in the built environment. Emma is an integral part of my team, and without doubt, her skills in both strategy development and some of the fundamentals of PR, such as writing, are first class.
I was cynical about what PR can deliver… then I met Future PR and changed my view completely.
FPR go to extreme lengths to deliver the ultimate PR programme – these exacting standards are driven by Emma’s absolute focus on what we need to stand out. Her capability in our sector is second-to-none – she’s incisive and we love her sleeves rolled up approach – it’s a unique trait.
Emma has made a significant difference to our business. One example of this being her tenacity and drive around the prestigious industry awards. The net result was 3 nominations, including a place on the winners rostrum of the coveted NHIC best glazed project category. This has unquestionably led to incremental business.
Future PR questions everything but they deliver fantastic results that are more akin to top-end management consultancy – every PR firm should take note.
